Limited "We are very excited about the future opportu- nities this linkage will provide." Compton has spent considerable resources bringing the high speed infrastructure to the area," said Mike Shepley, General Manager of Compton. This partnership also means we can bring resi- dential cable modem Internet services to the community this December, earlier than anticipated. We can now provide commercial data, gateway internet, and some voice technology services to Uxbridge, Port Perry and other sur- rounding area businesses on both co-axial cable and fibre-optics. Obtaining strategically located, secure sites with back-up power was very impor- tant to our implementa- tion plans. The hospital sites were optimal choices because they met our needs," said Mr. Shepley. Nestleton News Christmas service was wonderful By Joyce Taylor The Annual Christmas Eve Candlelight Service welcomed many mem- bers and visitors. The story of Christ's birth was related by scrip- tures and carols. Rick and B.J. Short and family spent Christmas Day with his sister and family, the "Stephensons" of Scugog Point. John and Nancy McCall of Scugog Point hosted their family gathering. Graham and Sharon Ham hosted as dinner guests on Christmas Eve Rev. Fairley along with Sharon's parents from Trenton who are spending a few days with them. Erica Ham is in Jamaica until March, working with young people there. Sympathy is extend- ed to the Lee families in the loss of their mother, grandmother and great grandmother, also to the Ross family in the loss of Bill Ross. Blue Ray Chapter remembered the sick and shut-ins with plants and goodie bas- kets and chocolate bars to the nursing home. The members were sad- dened to learn of the deaths of two of their members during Christmas week, Betty Beare and Rebecca Bruton. I wish everyone a Happy and Healthy New Year.
