As a result of their investigation, officers have charged two Prince Albert teens, aged 15 and 17. It is alleged they demanded cash from an employee at knife-point shortly after 8:30 p.m. on Feb. 3. Police say a male wear- ing a jacket and balaclava went up to the counter at the King St. store and attempted to purchase a pack of cigarettes. The employee asked for iden- tification and the teen got upset, say police. A second suspect, also wearing a balaclava, approached the counter, pulled out a knife, and demanded cash, police say. The employee refused to comply and the sus- pects ran out of the store, heading east on King St. Police were called to the store where they took a statement from the employee. A canine unit was called to the scene and, after police located a plaid jacket, ski mask and toque in the snow, led officers to a nearby home. Police had a discussion with two 14-year-old males at the house and then turned the case over to detectives. As a result of their investigation, officers asked a 17-year-old Prince Albert male to attend the Port Perry sta- tion. He arrived at the station shortly before | p.m. on Feb. 5, and was arrested and charged. From that interview, police were able to iden- tify a second suspect and visited his home around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 5, where he was arrested. Durham Police have charged the suspects with one count of robbery, one count of wearing a dis- guise with intent, and possession of dangerous weapons each. Both were held for a bail hearing, which was scheduled to be held yesterday in Oshawa. port.perry.star @ sympatico.ca Port Perry's Centre for the Performing Arts Presents LINDO' AND HER TRIO Featured on CBC' Saturday, February 12th, 8 pm.
