What & When you eat may also affect sleep patterns. As a shiftworker. you are 4x more likely to develop ulcers. diarrhea or constipation. small changes in the foods eaten can help reduce these risks. Some tips are: 1. Reduce intake highly seasoned foods. 2. Reduce foods high in fat & fried foods as these are hard to digest. 3. Limit caffeine - containg foods as they can cause distress in digestive tract. 4. Eat regular meals. Have a minimum of 3 meals in a 24 hour period. 5. Eat foods high in fibre as these may reduce risk of heart disease. 6. Pack a lunch to avoid high calorie/fat foods in vending machines.
