She's hoping to match and even exceed the $15,400 raised in 2000 when 18 teams and 90 riders took to Lake Scugog. All proceeds from the day-long event will go towards various chil- drens' charities to help underprivileged and dis- abled children with costly equipment, programs, services and bursaries. The ninth annual Aquarama fundraiser has been scheduled for Sunday, August 19, with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. Practice time will be allotted to all par- ticipants until just before Il a.m., when the racing is slated to begin. Once again, the event will be held just off of Palmer Park in Port Perry, and will see those taking part maneuver their way around a triangular course on a personal water craft. Each rider will traverse the course twice, and will be timed. Teams are made up of five riders, each of whom must raise at least $75 in Directory of Coming Events Blackstock Women's Indtitute Aerobics Gentle - Mondays - 1:30 p.m. - Blackstock United Church; Tuesdays - Low Impact - 7:30 p.m. - Blackstock United Church; Tuesday.
