In the beginning the partners combined their vast knowledge in the paint and wallpaper business to fulfill the decorating needs of homes and businesses in the Oshawa and Whitby area. But recognizing that there was more to the decorating business than paint and wallpaper they expanded into carpets and broadloom before the end of 1959. Business flourished with --« the new additions to their services and due to increasing demand from their customers, they added draperies to their store. Also in 1971, the store offered its growing clientele the best in hard surface flooring. ' In 1972 Grant's son Guy and Howard's son Grant joined the firm.
