After playing host to three teams from the UK over the past couple of years, the PPHS contingent is preparing for a trip of their own next month. There, they will play opponents in Swansea, Fishguard, and Bishopston. The team will leave on April 7, and return to Canada on April 15. During their stay, the group -- which includes 35 junior and senior players and four coach- es/staff members -- will be billeted in homes of their The trip will cost each player approximately $1,000 each, says teacher/coach Gord Humphrey. And, with that in mind, the teams have come up with an original idea to help raise some cash to cover some of their expenses, he says. "It's going to be an expensive trip, so we thought we could get the guys to be bag boys at two local gro- cery stores over the next couple of weekends," said Mr. Humphrey. The team will be at both Reid's Independent Grocers and Port Perry IGA on March 25 and April I, bagging and carrying out groceries. Any donations would be greatly appreciated and will go towards the cost of the trip, Mr. Humphrey said. "All the schools we are playing have been here, so this is our return visit. It's been a few years in planning, last couple of months. "This will be a great opportunity for the guys; we're all looking forward to the trip. We'll play two games at each place, for the junior and senior teams.". Accompanying the team, will be teachericosthes Gord Humphrey, Bryan Armstrong, Jim Cook, and Ron Pither.
