nis fos cite PORT PERRY "WEEKEND STAR" Featuring soloist Linda Binkley, the show will begin at 7:30 p.m. Burns Presbyterian Church's hosting {FIT a Spring Gospel Concert this Sunday | Concert Once again Burns Presbyterian Church is pre- senting its Spring Gospel Concert this Sunday, April 16 at 7:30 p.m. The featured soloist is Linda Binkley, a resident of Flamborough for over 30 years where she lives with her husband - John. A performer since the age of five, she is a graduate of the Academy of Music, and for the past six years has focused on making music her ministry. The group featured that evening are the Parkers, comprised of Shannan Parker - lead/harmony vocals, Warren Parker - lead/harmony vocals, piano, acoustic guitar and harmonica, and Johnny-Lee Clark - lead, acoustic and bass guitars and mandolin. The Parkers minister to over 200 concerts a year across North America, on 100 Huntley Street, and in Salvation Army Rehabilitation Centres, penitentiaries and schools. They are also World Vision Associates, devoted to rais- ing support to feed hungry children around the world. Between them, the mem- bers of the Parkers have won numerous awards at the Canadian Gospel Music Awards. Under the "B" The Whitby Seniors' Activity Centre will be hold- ing a Penny Bingo in Brooklin on Tuesday, April 18. Folk Concert The group Tamarack will be performing at Brooklin Community Centre on Saturday, April 15 at 8 p.m. Tickets are $15 each and are available at the door. Drawing on traditional sounds and contemporary influences, Tamarack is folk music at its best using vocal harmonies as true as the stories they tell. Tamarack's music explores the Canadian landscape, its people and the events that shaped our national char- acter. They expertly weave a rich wall of sound with an array of instruments includ- ing guitar, mandolin, bass and violin. The trio is Ontario based but has trav- elled throughout Canada., the U.S.A., England and Scotland and are currently working their 15th album.
