Whatever the reason, our province has a abun- dance of good golf courses to play. In fact, those living out- side of this province think we have been spoiled. But stop for a moment and think, .. How many of these courses would you say were really outstand- ing. How many are enticing enough to make you want to play it everday (and where you don't have to sell your house to" afford it.) Oliver's Nest Golf & Country Club, located west of Lindsay, on Highway # 7, at Oakwood, "the gateway to the Kawarthas", could be such a course. The green is elevated and tucked into a hillside, surounded by some older dogwood and maple trees. But the biggest danger is a cav- ernous pot bunker guarding the front and od center of the green called "Nigel's Revenge". Every player must trust their feel to hit a good approach. ATTITUDE - On the par 5 17th an elevated tee shot must miss swales, mounds and grass bunkers all down the left side, encouraging players to hit both their drives and second shots to the right side of the hole. A short iron third is left to a gently rolling and challenging green complex. The long slender green will yield lots of birdies. JUDGMENT - The fin- ishing hole is a very i aaa
