18 - PORT PERRY "WEEKEND STAR" FRIDAY, JUNE 30, 2000 Annual Canada Day parade runs July Ist Check out the Williams' Point Parade this Saturday Caesarea Ratepayers Association We are very thankful for perfect weather last Saturday. Enough clouds in the sky to protect us from the boiling sun plus a nice breeze. Christine Janssens with son Logan and I started off working on the new flowerbed under our new sign. Later we had Doug Anderson accompany us. As we finished up, Ted Park and his wife Leona joined us in conversation and sug- gested we trim the trees on the west side of the road so he could use his bush hog. So we met at 1:30 p.m. and started on this project being thankful for the two more volunteers plus his equipment, but another job. The hours ticked by and Albert was hungry and was ready to quit at 5 p.m. but here we had volunteers with heavy equipment who wanted to keep working until it was finished. Christine and Leona's work was finished a little after 6 p.m. but Ted kept on and so did I. Finally a little after 7 p.m. the machine broke so that was it for the day. If this hadn't happened | might have still be there.
