Defense lawyer Harry Black led his client, 51-year-old Durham Const. Al Robins, through the events of the night of 'Dec. 28, 1999, that culminated in the fatal shooting of 44-year-old Tony Romagnuolo. The chain of events began with a request for Const. Robins and his temporary part- ner Const. Const. Robins, who works out of 26 Division in North Durham, is charged with wounding and weapons offenses in the shooting of Rocco. Robins said the conversation with family members at the door of the home proceeded smoothly until Const. Hoskin told Enzo - who had come out of the house at the request of his father - that he was under arrest for threatening a police officer.
