Assists went to Kevin McClean and Chris Hill. Both goalies showed determination to stop the puck, Robert Golobic for Eco and David Barron for Wrights. Eco tied it up with a goal by Jordon Mitchell assisted by Jack O'Halloran and Curtis Larson. Eco pulled ahead with goals in the third by Joshua Watson and one more by Jordan. Assists went to Tyler Geer, Bob Dermarkar, O'Halloran and Travis Lee. Foundation Financial 3 Duff's Electric 4 Foundation did well with Robbie Ashdown in net, making many saves. Their goals were scored by Garrett Gerow and Kyle O'Halloran (two), assisted by D J. Grove, Steven Waters and Chad Cleverdon. With Andrew Hucal in net Duff's had the edge they needed to win this one. Their goals were scored by Svend Amburro (two), Ryan Bullock and Matthew McCreight. The assists went to McCreight, Andrew Down, Andrew Bullock, Dylan Vantienen, and Tamburro. Luchka Float Service 2 Low & Low Ltd. 4 Low & Low took an early lead with Nathan Alpe in between the pipes making many great saves. Goals were scored by Phillip Rudkin, Matthew Clancy (two), and Dylan Jones. Assists went to Dusty Pickard, Jack Homer and Kelly Pfister. Luchka kept the pressure on show- ing determination. With Matt McClean in net making saves left and right, the opposition had to work hard. Luchka goals were scored by Corey Brooks and Zachary Greco, assisted by Ben Gregory, Greg. Jorgensen and Ricky Geer. Auto Specialist 7 Great Canadian Meat Co. 0 Auto Spec. came on Strong with goals scored by George McCormack (four), Andrew Taylor (two), and Chad Gerritts. Assists went to Jeremy Dunham, Ryan Kaminski, Devon Colston, Corey Vandewiel, Michael Delong, Chad Gerritts and Craig Silnieks. Great Canadian Meat showed determination with Jordan Clancy in net. Aaron Wright and Krista Crosier kept digging to get the puck out. Luke Parlette and Carlos Naranjo made great attempts on scoring. Sharcon Excavating 2 Green's Electric 7 Sharcon showed determination with Trevor Douma between the pipes making great saves. They were first on the board with a goal by Anthony Tamburro, assisted by Kevin Fidler. Tyler Vanschagen put one away with assists going to Adam Vanwort and Isaac Foote. Green's had the edge with Brendan Pearce in net. Their goals were scored by Daniel Crosier, Steven Zajko, Adam Down (three), John-Phillip Zidner and Jory McLean. Assists went to McLean, Jacob Monk, Down, Alex Fortnum, Crosier, Wolfe Roberts and Zidner. Novice girls can't generate any Silene vs Cold Creek Comets After a well deserved week off the Novice Girls were on the road and up against the Lindsay Lynx on Nov. 19. "It was a bit of a slow start but the Predators were not going down without a fight. Lindsay scored first 'and it remained 1-0 until late in the second when Jessica Joncas picked up a rebound and jammed it home with the assist going to Vanessa Wilde and great forechecking by Stefanie Thomson. We went ahead with the game winner two minutes later. On her first shift on the wing Morgan Barr became the hero. She went in all alone after a great pass from Jaimie Lynn Adam, and sent a rocket into the corner of the net. The play was Novice Predators fall 2-1 to Brighton | | set up by excellent backchecking by Nicole Wise and defensive play by Caitlin Daly. Shawna MacMaster moved back to defepge and combined with Hailey Fortyn to make life difficult for the Lynx. Brittny O'Connor and Laura Brown stayed on the wing and provided the Lynx with a lesson in neutral zone play and forechecking. Our goalie Courtney Pelow did her stuff again making a lot of stops and a game saving stick save from her belly in the dying minutes. On Nov. 25 we made the long journey to Brighton to face the Cold Creek Comets. Our girls played well but came up on the short end of a 2- I decision. Stefanie Thomson scored our lone marker on a great shot and some great neutral zone work by Laura Brown and Shawna MacMaster. Our girls made a great effort playing with a short bench. Our defence trio of Morgan Barr, Hailey Fontyn and Jaimie Lynn Adam were strong. Hailey led the way making excellent checks and positioning very well. The forward line of Jessica Joncas, Laura Brown and Brittny O'Connor were hard working and came close on a few tries. The goal post became their goalies best friend through this one. Our goalie Courtney Pelow turned away all comers after the beginning for the second period making some heartstopping saves to keep us in the game. The 2000 Mann: cap. Chaipion olin Redimen have announced the retirement of head coach, Peter Vipond. Vipond indicated that he "had set some per- sonal and team goals a few years ago." With the Mann Cup championship victory this past season, Vipond realized those goals and this was a factor i in his decision commitment and hard work over the years ond his inte- gral role in bringing the Mann Cup back to Durham for. the first time since 1990. = - The Redmen are pleased to announce that promo- tion from within the club will be the direction taken to fill the coaching vacancy. Uxbridge Minor Atom Stars action Stars storm back to take 4-3 win from Oshawa Over the last weekend, at 1:14 into the game. Wes Port Perry Printing novices drop 13-1 decision to Peterborough Printing team falls flat in tourney final On Saturday Nov. 24, Port Perry was proudly rep- resented at a novice hock- ey tournament in Havelock by the local Port Perry Printing house league team. It was an eight team affair and the local squad finished as the "C" division runner-up. In the first game Port Perry Printing faced a tough foe in the Barrie Laurentian Bank team. Barrie started the game by swarming the Port Perry end and only the stellar play of Vanessa Wilde in goal kept the game scoreless. However, the constant pressure proved too much and Barrie jumped out to a 3-0 lead. Spencer Ayres got one back on a shot from the high slot with assists going to Connor Delangly and Jeff Bertrand. Barrie restored its' three goal margin before Connor Paterson' picked the top corner on a wrist shot after a beautiful setup from Dakota Watson and Darrell Pelletier. Barrie went up by three again before Spencer Ayres rounded out the scoring when he fired one past the Barrie goalie after receiving a great pass from Nelson Escholtz and Gregor Daly. The final score in game | was Barrie 6, Port Perry Printing 3. Game 2 resulted in a better match for Port Perry Turn to Page 29 the Uxbridge Minor Atom Stars attended a tourna- ment in Lindsay. Friday, Dec. | saw an early game against Agincourt with a 6-2 loss for ~~ Uxbridge. Mark Roesner netted two for Uxbridge. Game 2 squared off against Goulbourn and another 6-2 loss for Uxbridge with Kevin George and Braeden Lefevre with one apiece each. The Stars would not let two losses get them down, so on Saturday, Dec. 2 the tournament play continued with a win against Whitby 6-0. The first goal was scored by Mark Roesner Huggins had two, and Kevin George, Shane MacDonald and David Mordak each had one goal. Great effort by our minor atoms. Game 4 saw some action as Uxbridge lost against Ajax 4-2. Mark Roesner and Kevin George each had one goal. There was no rest for these young players as they went right back into league play on Sunday, Dec. 3.
