"WEEKEND STAR" ee FRIDAY, DECEMBER 8, 2000 - 29 Printers defeat Clarington 9-2 From Page 28 as they faced off against the Immaculate B team from Clarington. Lane Gibson started the scor- ing on an end to end rush. Lane notched his second a couple of minutes later when he fired a wrist shot over the sprawled goalie after being sent in alone on a pass from Connor Delangly. Connor Paterson made it 3-0 when he scooped up a loose puck and found the five hole on a shot from the right side. Wade Bond made it 4-0 when he banged home his own rebound after the original slap shot taken by Connor Ristow somehow did not find the twine. Spencer Ayres found the back of the net on a rebound from a point shot taken by Shane Lewitzki. Dakota Watson and Phillip Roussell teamed up on a great play right off the drop of the puck. Spencer Ayres with two more markers and Shane Lewitzki rounded out the scoring for Port Perry Printing with unassisted goals. Once again Vanessa Wilde was great in the nets as she led her team to a final score of Port Perry Printing 9, Immaculate "B" 2. The "C" division cham- pionship game was a tough match for our local squad. As hard as they tried they could not beat the goalie from the St. Anne's team from Peterborough. Spencer Ayres and Connor Paterson hooked up to get the teams lone goal. The final was 13-1 in favor of St. Anne's. While the team didn't win they were proud and happy to receive medals which they all wore proudly after the game. Special thanks to Mark Bertrand, Mike Ayres and Gary Gibson for coaching the team. Both the coach- ing staff and all the team members were great rep- resentatives of Port Perry and of their sponsor, Port Perry Printing. __ SCUGOG F INANCIAL - J] ------------ SERVICES INC.
