Rr i NE WS MNS GENES SMINNN GIMMNS GMMSNNS SNM 12 - "WEEKEND STAR" FRIDAY, MAY 11, 2001 Trinity United Church to host 31st Annual Tour of Homes on June 2 Tour some of Uxbridge's finest homes next month Saturday, June 2, the Uxbridge Trinity United Church Women present their 31st Annual Tour of Homes. = This is the day when seven generous, communi- ty minded citizens open their homes on behalf of the church for this annual fundraising event. . The tour features a mix of rural, century, and town homes you won't want to miss. One of the homes featured this year is locat- ed at Bristol Ponds Estates and is owned by Don and Carol MacNaughton. This beautiful, estate bungalow features a spacious foyer, workshop with private entrance, four bedrooms and lower-level recreation room, complete with walk- out to a stunning view of the hills in which this home is nestled. Many windows on the main level provide bright rooms. The sunroom features a hot tub. This attractive home is the set- ting for an array of family heirlooms, auction sale treasures and many items lovingly hand crafted by the owners. The almost century home belonging to Val and Marilyn Doak was built in 1918. This home is almost completely furnished by antiques. Many of these fine pieces have been handed down by earlier generations of the Doak, Davidson and Bushby fam- ilies. This stone home is in excellent condition and very tastefully decorated by the owners. A must see. From 1918, we travel forward to the present day. Al and Kay Noble are the owners of a gorgeous, three storey brick and stone home situated in the Barton Farm development on the north-east end of Uxbridge. A spiral staircase rises from the front foyer, all the way to the third-floor hobby-loft, and guest- suite. A unique feature in the master-suite, of this five bedroom home is a two way fireplace. The eye is drawn to the beautifully landscaped gardens on this corner lot. Tickets for this fundrais- ing event can be pur- chased from Quaker Pharmacy or Shoppers Drugs in Uxbridge, or from the United Church on the day of the tour. If you wish, you may also purchase your ticket from any of the homes on tour day - June 2. The homes are open for viewing from noon until 5 p.m. For additional informa- tion please call 905-852- 9378 or 905-852-6213. We wish to thank all the volunteers for their efforts and the home owners for their generous support in opening their homes and their hearts.
