8 - "WEEKEND STAR" FRIDAY, MAY 18, 2001 Uxbridge Lions prepare for this year's Art in the Park The Uxbridge Lions Club will once again host the ever popular "Art in the Park" Aug. 18 and 19 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in Elgin Park, Uxbridge. The organizing commit- tee, headed by Gary Langlands is hard at work to ensure that this year's event will be bigger and better than ever, but most of all an enjoyable event for all art lovers. Under the trees at Elgin Park, we will assemble over 90 artists who will demonstrate, show and sell their art in such medi- Ec pC ums as oil, water colours, pottery, sculpture, metal and photography. There will also be a special interactive art pro- ject for young people headed by local artist Gloria Hope. To add to the relaxing atmosphere, there will be an interesting and enter- taining array of local musi- cians and musical groups who will perform through- out the weekend. Refreshments will be available on the grounds.
