Mr. Churchley of Oshawa and Mr. King. of Port Perry were present | to help in the discussion of a re-| tirement plan for farmers. The forum members greatly appreciat- ed their interest in the meeting. Next week the Forum will meet| at the home of Mrs. and Mr. Clar- ence Carter to discuss a civil de- fence plan. Miss Inez Martyn of Toronto spent last weekend with her par-| ents Mr. and Mrs. Alex Martyn. The Christmas concert for the Foot and Centre School will be held at Grace United Church on Thursday evening. December 15. We hope that St. Nick will have time to call in to see us all. On Sunday, December 18, the Christmas Sunday School program will take place: Yearly awards will be presented and a Christmas con- cert The Home and School Decem-| ber meeting is on Wednesday, De- cember 21, at the Foot School. The committee in charge is Mrs. Keith Crozier, Mrs. John Burnham and Mrs. Cameron Aldred. WA MEETING The Christmas meeting of Grace United WA was held at the church with a great attendance. The presi dent Mrs. Glen Hood read her open- ing thought from the magazine "Observer." A Carol 'Hark the Herald An- gel sing' was sung. Mr. Hood led in prayer. The scripture was read by Mrs. Keith Crozier. Mrs. Mar- vyn Appleton sang a solo 'White Christmas'. Mrs Russell Pogue gave two readings, one from the 'Observer', and one entitled 'Old Friends'. Mrs. Murray McLaren demonstrated how to make lovely Christmas centre pieces and other decorations, including a pop-corn tree Roll call was answered with the time and date of our wedding an- niversary. The election of officers then took| place. Last years president Mrs. | Russell Pogue took the chair, and the nominations began. The new president 1956 is Mrs. Keith Cro- zier. All other officers remain the same for 1956. Mrs. Glen Hood was added to the Hospital committee, and Mrs. Cecil Fralick added to the parsonage committee. { It was voted to send a shower of get-well cards to Mrs. C. L Fralick and Mrs. Gordon Flewell Bob Newman our student Pastor from Toronto preached a fine ser- mon on "'Christians and their pos- sessions."
