CLEVELAND MYERS Some mothers suffer great fears during an electrical storm. One mother, supposing her fears might affect her little children, writes: "I am 27 years of age and have two boys. One is four years and the other is four months. I am so afraid of thunder and lightning that I can't move when I know are are going to have a storm. My oldest boy so far isn't afraid of them, but I can't cook or do any- thing when a storm comes up. "I'm wondering if you can fell me some way of overcoming this fear. I should be ashamed of my- self for writing this letter. Please send me your bulletin on fears in|in a dark closet You might even put on rubbers then. There is nothing wrong about that. Try to keep yourself busy at something. It might be a good time to read to the older child Also, it should help you if you were to watch a receding storm, observing the clouds and the play of lightning when you feel pretty safe. You might even learn to enjoy the grandeur then -and you could talk about it to your child. I can remember ard older sister of mine, who died in her 20's, being so frightened during an electric storm that she would ress ITIP to the British Isles and the) and throw a dress head.
