Sse SCOUT CELEBRATIONS Cobourg Gets Rover Scouts COBOURG ~-- Initiating cere- monies were held Sunday after- noon for the first Rover Scout Troop to be formed in Cobourg, The services were held at 1 pm, in St. Michael's Roman Catholic Church on Division street. . Conducting the ceremony for the first group of five boys was John Butler, Rover scout troop leader. He was assisted by District Scout Master, Cy Mur- phy, while the troop badges and insignia were blessed by Father J. T. Pearson. The troop was first founded a little over a year ago by Father studying for his Doctor of Can- non Law in Rome. During the past year, the five boys have gone through a testing period of training. The first members of this troop are: Bob and Joe Kearney, Bob Parsons, John Lis and Bill Holmes. They were honored that evening at a father and son banquet held in St. Michael s School.
