Court Tells Youth Attend Traffic Clinic BOWMANVILLE (Staff) -- On a recommendation by Police Chief Bernard R. Kitney, Magis- trate R. B. Baxter Tuesday or- dered Norman Luxton, 19, of 99 Queen street, to surrender his driving licence until September 1 Luxton appeared on a charge of| careless driving. f In addition to surrendering his| licence, accused was ordered to] attend Bowmanville traffic clinic) in September The case, and also a second charge of obtaining iquor while under the age of 21 were adjourned until Sept. 15 Witnesses stated that accused's car rounded a turn on the wrong| side of Wharf road, hit a pot-|§ hole and rolled down an embank- ment. Constable Ron Parker said he found Luxton at the bottom of the embankment trying to con- sole an injured friend. Both smell- _ ed of alcoho! and later admitted having drunk two bottles of beer Chief Kitney sald he could see no reason why Luxton should have a driving licenee for the rest of the summer, The best thing the court could do would be to take it away until Sept. 15 Will Take Playgrounds Training BOWMANVILLE -- A five-day leadership training course will be held for all playground leaders in the East Central Zone which includes Cobourg, Lindsay, Tren- ton, Peterborough, Cornwall, Belleville. This view was expressed by board of trade president L. T. Sylvester to an executive meeting Tuesday. He said that a board of trade meeting with department of high- way officials with a suggestion that the route be changed to an- other part of town did not meet with too much success | Other members did not think that it would make too much difference. Deputy - reeve Mike Wladyka said that the whole route of the town would be finish- ed by the fall of 1960. The east section would be completed this summer Most felt there would not be any increase in the existing flow of traffic which had to use. this route to the east. It was decided not to go ahead with further rep- resentations to the department of highways. Drove With 1958 License BOWMANVILLE (Staff) An Nshawa man, Francis L.
