For the initial part of the meeting the secretary-treasurer, Edward Bowman, took the chair for the purpose of organizing the nomination and eléction for a chairman of the board and the |guests are: Mr. and Mrs. Peter| WITH GERRY BLAIR PINCH-HITTING Windsor Bulldogs, third place holders in the OHA Senior "A" league, provide the opposition for the Whitby Dunlops tonight at the Community Arena, commencing at 2:00 p.m. Excluding last night's action, Whitby at Chatham and Kitchener at Belleville, the "Dunnies" find themselves having only a share of top spot at present, the other club being the resurgent Kitchener-Waterloo- Dutchmen. Windsor have lost their last six games and are due for a big game. They downed the locals, 6-4 in their last visit on December 19, and with plenty of hard work could possibly duplicate it tonight. The Bull- dogs are once again back at full strength, with playing-coach Jean-Paul Lamirande and Len Speck completely healed from their leg injuries suffered a couple weeks back. "Lammy" is really "burning" the past few days after his charges lost an all- important four-point game to the K-W's on Wed- nesday night. Tonight will see the league's leading goal scorer in action, Irwin Gross, who has tallied 23 to date, Irwin also is in second place in the over- all points total, just three back of Kenny Laufman of Kitchener, The battle for first place continued last night, and a loss by Whitby and a win for Kitchener would put the Dunlops in seccnd place. The Dunnies have held the league leadership since approximately Nov, 11, a rather lengthy stretch, While Whitby will be idle on Sunday afternoon, Kitchener invade the motor city for another four-point game with the Bulldogs, giving them more opportunity to pull ahead of the Dunlops. Kitchener are also playing tonight, at home against the. tail-ending Belleville Mac- Farlands. It is possible for the Dutchmen to be as much as eight points ahead of Whitby come Monday morning. That makes tonight's contest with Windsor most important if they (Whitby) are to stay abreast of the Dutchies. Bobby Bauer, now having full con- trol of the coaching for the completion of the Olympic tournament and the OHA Senior "A" and Allan Cup playdowns has lifted the spirit of the Dutchmen even more in the past two or three days. Kitchener will get their first real big test on Sunday afternoon against the Russians, giving them a fair appraisal of their (Kitchener's) playing personnel which will in- clude four members from the Allan Cup champion Whitby Dunlops, Bebby Attersley, Harry Sinden, George. Samolenko and Fred Etcher, except for this Sunday in Fred's case. Tickets for the Russian-Whitby game this Tues- day in Toronto will be on sale tonight at the game here in Whitby between Windsor and the Dunlops. This will be the final chance for you to pick up a choice seat, and possibly the last chance to pick up a seat anywhere, as the sale in the Gardens has really been moving. There will, of course, be stand- ing room available at game time Tuesday, and maybe some greys. TOWN AND COUNTRY ... Dave Nicholishen, one of the better forwards with the Whitby Hillcrest Dairy Juniors, displayed real scoring punch the other night in Newmarket, firing home all three goals in Whitby's 3-2 overtime victory against the second place Smokerings. Whitby travel to Penetang tonight and then are at home on Monday night to New- market once again, Victories on both nights would put them in real contention for top honours . Clinton Comets of the United States Eastern hockey league, have once again moved into first place in their division by beating the former league leaders, Phila- delphia, 3-1 on Wednesday night.
