Face-off time is 8:00 p.m. Chatham are still seeking their initial victory over the "Dunnies" on Whitby ice, having been de- feated all five times to date, All other clubs in the OHA Senior "A" league have beaten the Dunlops at least once in Whitby. Tonight will see both clubs slightly short-handed. Chatham will be minus for- ward Jim Connelly and defenceman Jack Douglas, both with Kitchener, while Whitby are without the services of Attersley, Sinden, Etcher, and Samolenko, and probably Bob Hassard. "Hass" is still suffering from an ankle injury received in Chatham last Fri- day evening. Ted O'Connor, playing-coach of the Dunlops will be back in action tonight, with his shoulder completely recovered from a muscle separa- tion. Defensively the locals should be rather strong, with the addition of Hoskings, and the return of Alf {na Jones and Gloria Lee, were THE OSHAWA TIMES, Seturday, February 6, 1960 § their advantage Monday. The Hillcrests dropped a hard-fought 2-1 decision to the Orillia Bulldozers on Wednesday night in Orillia, for their second straight loss to the Bulldozers this week. The game was fea- tured by several fist fights, Gord Luke received a six-game suspension for his actions here in Whitby on Monday night, taking exceptions to a call by the referee and 'eventually swatting him one across the shins with his stick. Game time on Monday is 8:30 p.m. FBYPA Enjoy Skating Party On Tuesday evening the youn, people of Faith Baptist Church held their weekly meeting, The group met at the church and then went by cars to Winter Wonder- land for an evening "of skating. When a certain Toronto sports writer tried to compare junior hockey with senior hockey he certainly could only have been talking in terms of promotion, for the game Wednesday, and as it turned out, some 2,000 fans showed up for the massacre. Whitby had no trouble containing the Marlboro attack, and anything they did manage to get rolling was taken care of adequately by goal- tender John Henderson, Some excitement revolved around the controversial Roger Cote. In case you have not had the opportunity to see him, and have only heard reports about his hostility, you can believe every word of it. He went out of his way throughout the entire contest to arouse the fierceness in such massive performers on the Dunlops as Alf Treen, Don McBeth, Dunc Brodie, and Doug Williams. Mac and Cote had a mild pushing duel in front of 'Hen- derson, but nothing developed. Any one of the afore- mentioned had opportunities to partake of the austere Marlboro defenceman's invitation to fight, but being sensible hockey players, figured nothing would be gained from such an affray. Said one of them: "When he (Cote) reaches the American Hockey League, there will be numerous men who will "carve" him up easily if he attempts to get out of line." Ralph Hos- kings and Pete Babando scored beautiful goals, and were applauded vigorously for their fine efforts, % & KATHLEEN ROWE SCHOOL CARNIVAL On Friday afternoon the chil- | munity Arena.
