The girls operating the switch- board worked their last shift Saturday. Mayor William Parish of Ajax and Reeve Cyril Morley of Pickering Village made the first calls over the new Whitehall exchange, which will now serve the two municipalities. Mayor Parish called his pare- ents in Toronto, while Reeve Mor- ley called William Murkar, vil- lage philosopher and editor of the Pickering News.
