And I reflected that this fact of light is the all-important thing to remember when we get discouraged. What is discouragement, actually, but darkness of the mind? When it comes upon us we simply need to let light into our darkness. But just how is a person to go about letting light into mental darkness? When discouraged, the first step should be to take the attitude of doing something about it, instead of just giving in to it as an accept- ed state. Next, seek spiritual illumination ONTARIO TODAY through prayer. This stimulates new insights on your problem or situation. And a further step is objective, self questioning. Ask what have I been doing wrong? Are there self-de- feating factors in my state of mind? Has my approach been impractical? Look for whatever positive good there may be in your difficulties. They are always there, you know. And constantly bear in mind your bless- ings, the bright and hopeful things. As you think along this line, your mental condition will gradually change.
