Charles Snelgrove appeared before a meeting of the chamber directors this week in reply to a request from town council that the chamber ascer- tain whether druggists would plan a schedule to be open for a few hours every Sunday. Mr. Snelgrove said that he had contacted all the druggists in the town since council's discussion of the matter and found that not one was of the opinion that a drug store should remain open here on Sunday. Chamber vice-president Wil- liam Morrison said that only re- centiy he had had occasion to purchase a bottle of liniment on a Sunday and found he had to go to Oshawa to make the pur- chase. "Why didn't you call me at my home?" asked Mr, Snelgrove, "I would rather come down to the store to sell the item than stay in there four or five hours, "We could be open from 1 pm. to 5 p.m. on Sunday but what guarantee is there that that is when all the emergencies will arise?" asked Mr, Snelgrove.
