'Open School For Retarded AJAX (Staff) -- On Saturday, June 17, at 2.30 p.m., Mr. Joel Aldred will officially open the Aldon School for Retarded Chil- dren in Ajax. The school is sit- uated on Burcher road next to the Lord Durham Public School. The opening culminates the efforts of five year's work by local Association membership. The next three terms saw the attendance increase to 22 pupils and three teachers, and it be- came apparent that a larger, more suitable building was be- coming a necessity. The actual construction of the ciation was to provide a full time day school for retarded! children in this area.
