The girls assembled in the Morris Cody Hall of St. Paul's Church several days for their 4-H demonstrations, skits and judging. The girls all had free passes for the Exhibition. They are the infant daughters of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Ellicott of Brougham, Kelly Lorraine and the infant daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Chism, Lynda Jane. Mary Lynn Blackman and Diane Carter sang very nicely "Near To The Heart of God". The flowers in the church Sunday were in memory of the late Mrs. Morley Harlock. The sympathy of the com- munity goes to Mr. Harlock and Dorothy (Mrs. Gordon Duncan), of Markham. Mrs. Harlock had lived most of her life in the Brougham district, moving to Manilla only a few years ago. The Brougham fire brigade lost no time Friday morning in getting to Whitevale to help put out a fire in the old hotel. This building had been converted to , {apartments and was over one hundred years old. Mr. Jack Gillman underwent surgery in Oshawa General Hospital Monday morning. A speedy recovery is wished for him.
