® -- PORT PERRY STAR -- Thursday, Nov. 12, 1970 Community Nursing Home was the setting November 8th, 1970 for the Wedding Anniversary of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Kennedy. Members of the family attended and held a dinner party in their honour in the dinning room of the nursing home. Local Couple Married This week has again been full of activity. Mr. Thom, Mr. Duffield, Mrs. Lena Ward, Miss Bal- four and Mrs. Jordan were all out at various times dur- ing the week for afternoon visits. Mr. Myers was taken out for a drive on Sunday by his wife and daughter. Jack Weir spent a day with his daughter. On Saturday several of our ladies enjoyed an outing at the Port Perry United Church Bazaar. Namely Mrs. Stevens, Mrs. Murrall, Mrs. Hewitt, Miss Balfour and Mrs. Bell. They had a good time shop- ping for Christmas presents and treats. The tea room was thoroughly enjoyed with all the fancy sandwiches and pastries. Thank you to Mrs. Williams for driving them to the church and to the lad'es of the church for the invita- tion. It was certainly a nice change for us. A lovely dinner was brought in and served in the dining room and they all had a grand celebration. Congratulations Mr. Mrs. Kennedy. We have a young artist on our staff, Doris Doyon. She decorated the wall of the sitting room for Remembran ce Day. Thank you Doris for doing a fine job. We are all feeling rather lost without Mr. and Mrs. DeNure who left Monday to go back to their in Osh- awa. However we are happy for them and wish them con- tinued improvement in health. Scouts Continued interested in boys and be will- ing to spend two or three hours a week with them. Before the scouting was discontinued the troop was meeting Friday nights at the Scout Hall from 7.30 to 9.30 p.m. The first part of the meeting was usually gen- eral. During the latter half the boys worked toward their various scouting badges and other activities. Manuals are supplied to the leader to help him with the various programs. Projects such as camping trips, are left | up to the leaders and troop to decide on.
