The meeting opened with the Pre- sident, Mrs. Perey VanCamp welcoming all present. After _|the singing of the Ode and repeating the Collect in uni- son, the minutes of the Sept- ember meeting read and ap- proved. The Treas. report was given and the corres- pondence consisted of an an- nouncement of 4H Achieve- ment Day to be held in Black- Stock on Nov. 14th. A letter from Pollution Probe mem- bers who had taken part in the Sept. meeting brought a motion to send them a dona- }tion. The business consisted of getting prizes for the High School Commencement, quilt- ing a quilt and serving a din- ner to the Hydro Men in the New Year. The Roll Call, Display or tell about your heirloom brought interesting displays and comments. Mrs. Frank Hoskin, convener of Home Economics had charge of the programme. Mrs. Russel Mountjoy "ave Current Ev- ents. Our District President, Mrs. Davis of Solina spoke on Home Economics and also gave us an interesting ac- count of her trip as delegate of the District to the Nation- al Convention in Winnipeg in August. She also had a book of many pictures on display. Mrs. Gordon Strong gave the reply to the motto, "Character is like embroidery --it is made stitch by stitch. Mrs. Percy VanCamp, dele- gate to the Convention in Toronto gave her report and thanked the Institute for this opportunity.
