Cortweght High School: "Better Educational Facilities Must Be Provided | Before Cartwright High Schevt ts Closed" As im previous years, Blackstock Recreational Hall was again filled in capacity by parents, students and inter ested for the annual Commencement Exercises, Friday night In his opening remarks, Gordon Paisley, principal of Cartwright High School told the audience 104 students are attending the school this year. This is the largest amount in the history of the school and has only occured once before He also said that 72 adults are taking part in night courses at the school. Art Rowan, representative on the Northumberland Durham Board of Education received warm applause when he announced that the rumours of closing the school in September, 1971 was unfounded. The school will not be closed before other and better facilities can be found, Mr Rowan said. Hospital, Port Perry. Son of Mrs. Minerva Horn and the late Sydney Trewin, he was born at Enniskillen and received his education in the Public and High Schools there. On September 1, 1943, he married the former Jean Louise Wright who survives. The deceased had resided in Blackstock since 1943, moving there from Enniskil- len. An Allis-Chalmers Farm Equipment dealer, he was self-employed and had gained great recognition throughout many areas, as well as the Blackstock region as a very successful dealer for the Company. Surviving, besides his wife are two sons, Lloyd and Earle, his mother, Mrs. Minerva Horn of Oshawa and two brothers, Mr. Earl Trewin of Enniskillen and Mr. Roy Trewin of Miss- issauga. The funeral service was held on Monday, Oct. 5 from the McDermott - Panabaker Funeral Home, Port Perry, and was in Hampton Cemetery. Numerous floral tributes and donations to the Heart Fund attested to the high esteem in which the deceased was held. Pallbearers were Messrs. Don Snetsinger, George Hall, Almyr Tomlinson, Russel Car- naghan, John Rahm and Mer- vin Graham.
