In his report on the Com- munity Memorial Hospital, Storey Beare said, to date 1,700 patients had been ad- mitted: tg the hospital making up some 11,000 patient days. 35 doctors are attached to the hospital, seven from Port Perry and the balance from Oshawa and Brooklin. 105 persons are employed by hospital at the present time: He expressed the Hospital Board's appreciation to the | Auxiliary for the last instal- ment of $1,000. on a pledge of $20,000 and mentioned the generous donations of the Lions Club and Legion of $5,000. each. With a healthy $7,000. pro- fit the Community Memorial Recreation Centre has had a successful year. Mr. Vin Walker gave a report on behalf of the committee and gave the management of the Arena a great deal of credit for the success. His main concern at the present was the lack of parking facilities near the Arena and urged improvement in this regard would be made as soon as possible. Mr. Wm. Williams spoke in glowing terms about the Hydro-Electric Commission's staff and added he was indeed pleased about the operation during the two-year term he had been a member of the Commission. Following the various re- ports presented, the new can- didates were given the oppor tunity of addressing the rate- payers present. Others speaking were, Sam Oyler, reeve of Reach Town- ship, Ted Jackson, former member of the Hydro-Electric Commision, W. Sanders, for- . mer councillor.
