CHRISTMAS IN SONG (Epsom School) The last day of school be- fore holidays was quite mem- erable for its Carol Service. Many who could not come to the school were able to hear the lovely music as -- was taped and played on three oceasions on Ajax radio stat- ion. A little previous pract- ice was held at the Commun- ity Nursing Home in Port Perry when fifty pupils ua-| der direction of Mrs. Sandis- on (music director) enter- tained the staff and patients. We were pleased to see the use of tone bells by Roger Parsons Evans. Mrs. Sandison directed three numbers by Grades I Mrs. Sandison directed the French version of "Whence O Shepherd Maiden" taught by the French teacher, Mrs. Umphrey who was unable to be present as she was teach- ing in Prince Albert that day Mrs. Sandison directed two other numbers by this group. Martha McCallum played piano while the junior child- ren took their places on the platform and as they left. Beverley Simmons played for the senior pupils to enter and leave the room. Bev. is a beautiful and skilled pian- ist for her age and her help is so much appreciated by her teachers. Two of the girls presented a gift to Mrs. Sandison and Mrs. Armstrong. LOCAL Mr. and Mrs. Eric Benns. Robin and Ricky had lunch {om Tuesday with Eric's grand mother, Mrs. Jean Benns of Claremont and on Saturday Eric, Dianne and children visited his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Robt. Benns of Whitby. Mr. and Mrs. Allan Card had their family all home for Christmas breakfast. Pre-Christmas visitors with Grandma Cawker were Mr. and Mrs. Harold Cawker, Mr and Mrs. Dan Cawker, Bar bara and Patricia of Peter- borough and Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Bourgeois and family of Port Perry. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wilson of Sarnia, Mr. Floyd Wilson of Hamilton, Misses Joyce & Carol Wilson of Toronto were with their parents for the holiday. Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wilson held family Christmas for the Wilson families.
