Brian's And Prince Albert Meet In Finals By Gordon Scott Brian's Supertest & Prince Albert played the first game of the Port Perry Broomball Finals on Sunday, after they had won their first series the week before. Neither team could muster up sufficient offence to score throughout the regulation time as they fought to a scoreless tie. Each team played the overtime wide open and Don Gray scored | the winning goal, the only goal at 3:17 of the first over- time period. Bill Hall and goaltender Ugene Hurst both | drew assists on Don's goal. Beare scored his fourth goal of the game with two seconds re maining in the game to give Club Annrene an 87 victo over Maple Leaf Mills. Other goal scorers were Bourgeois (2), Lyon and Larmer for Bruins and Baird (3), Van Weston, McQuade, Page and Cawker for M.L.M. The series is tied at one game apiece. NOVICE -- Scugog Lumber' Kings swept their series two games straight over Malmont Farms beating them 3-0 on Saturday. Walker recored the shut out while Moore, Carriere and Robertson col- lected the goals. Keith Real Estate were eliminated as they dropped a 2-1 decision to White Feather Farms. Practically every week a winning rink is capturing a trophy and last week the Clara Martyn rink won the Pentiand Jewellery'Ltd. trophy. Local Team Capture Cannington Trophy A Port Perry quartette, skipped by Don Hadden, with Helen Hadden, vice, Jerry Tay lor, second, and Sandra Taylor, lead, was the winner of the Morley Umphrey Trophy Held annually, for mixed curling competition, for mixed curling competition, the bon spiel was held at the Cannington Curling Club om Saturday, February 27th. In for the high two game win was a rink piloted by Elmer Farthing of Uxbridge, with lvan Goodhand's foursome of Lindsay, placing second in this category.
