The soloist for the occasion was Mrs. Lee of Sunderland accompanied on the organ by Mrs. C. S. Rundle, Oshawa. Given in marriage by her ¢ father, the bride chose a gown of white poide-soie, princess style with lace sleeves and panel. Her head dress of satin pedals with roses and rhinestones held in place a three tier veil. She ' carried a bouquet of red roses. A heirloom was worn by the bride, a ring of three opals. Miss Marleen Armstrong, Oshawa, sister of the bri was maid of honour and her bridesmaids were Miss Pat Durward, Sunderland and Miss Penny Armstrong, Pet- erborough. Two flower girls Misses Mary Jane Armstrong and Melody Armstrong, Osh- awa. The groom's attendants were Mr. Gord Durward, Sun- derland, Mr. Ken Armstrong, Peterborough and Charles Keith Durward of Sunder. land. The reception was held in St. Stephen United Church. Reaves, B.D. from Bobcaybeon was our guest minister at morning worship on Sunday, March 2ist. The Junior Choir rendered a most enjoyable number accomp- anied on the piano by Mr. Bruce Freeman and on the guitar by Mr. Geoffrey Leh- man. It was so nice to see so many visitors out to wor- ship. We are sorry to report tha; Mrs. Fred Stephen is in the Port Perry Community Hospital We wish her a very speedy recovery. There was a good attend- ance at the Community Cen- tre on Wednesday night when Const. B. Graham was present and showed some films. Watch the paper for coming events at the Centre. Mr. and Mrs. Harry Fiet- cher, Toronto; Mrs. Margaret Sparkes, Guelph; and Mr. & Mrs. Bill Sparkes, Toronto were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Edgar Heron Mr. and Mrs. Frank Mit. chell, Deep River, and Mrs. Myrtle Fisher, Pickering, vis- ited recently with Mr. and Mrs. Ernie Humphrey. Mr. Jim Hall who has been a resident of Ashburn for a number of years, passed away at Fairview Lodge on CENTENNIAL STITCHERS Since this was the holidays the meeting was at 2:00 - 4:00 instead of 400-6:00. It was also recorded as a work meet- ing. All but three girls at- tended the meeting, which was opened with the 4H pledge. Since there was no business, all just went ahead and worked on their dresses. Jackie Willis demonstrated how to make darts as she is working on them on her dress. Miss Dodd was going te show how to put an in- visible zipper in Dianne Marten's dress, but decided to wait until all the girls were present. Near the end of the meet- ing we decided on the cover and Karen Jordan designed it. Meeting closed with the 4H motto. Kim Harrison, Press Reporter MANCHESTER ZIPPY ZIPPERS 4H NEWS by Dorothy Brown Meeting five was held at the home of Karen Davidson on March 18th. The meeting was opened with the 4H Pledge. Roll Call was: Show the label you found and tell why it is a good one. It was answered by all members. The minutes were read by Carol and Margaret gave the Treasurer's report. Roll Call was: One idea for our club exhibit. Our club isn't having an exhibit, we are having a Fashion Show instead. For Roll Call we discussed the Fashion Show. The secretaries report and the treasurer's report were read. The next meeting will be held at Margaret Wannin- khof. We discussed "Insert- ing the Lining in the Jacket".
