The theme of the float be- ing the Centennial year in Port Perry, the cubs were dressed in Indian costume (made by their mothers), showing how the first inhabi- tants of Scugog Island lived. This was complete with tepee and totem poles, and various activities such as grinding corn, ete., took place. Upon winning Ist place in the Cubaree, among 12 other packs, the 2nd Scugog Cubs will next year host the Cub- aree on Scugog Island. The boys were very excited over winning first place and again, we must congratulate them, and their leaders who invested so much time and energy in training them so well -- namely Pat Taylor, Jim McQuinn, and Nick Wou- ters. -To all we say "well done". Any boys interested in join- ing may register in Septem- ber, and all new members will be welcome.
