This beautiful Centennial quilt, the creation of several women, the names of those taking part embroidered and with several designs from bygone years as well as to day will be permanently preserved in the Scugog Shores Museum. It was presented to the chairman, Wm. Brock at the Handicraft Show held recently. later they took up farming in Utica, in 1927, and continued entil their retirement five years ago. Por their anniversary party on Sunday, members of the family took part. McLaughlin A special tribute was paid to Col. R. S. McLaughlin in commemoration of his 100th birthday at the annual meet. ing of the Ontario County Tuberculosis and Respiratory Disease Association held at Northminster Ugited Church, Oshawa. A gold double bar- red cross--the symbol of the fight against TB and other respiratory diseases --Awas presented in absentia to Col McLaughlin, former honor- ary chairman of the many mass surveys conducted by the association. In her president's report, Mrs. C. D. Russell reviewed the year's work and remind- ed the members that preven- tive medicine is of prime im- portance to us all. She spoke of the new program- Clark while granddaughters Brenda, Adell and Janice Locke, Sandra Susan and Joan Healey served. Over 200 called during the day to offer their best wishes ; and many cards and gifts were received. Messages came from Prime Minister P. E. Trudeau, mem- bers of Parliament, federal and provincial, and a message the office of Premier William Davis. Over 40 members of the immediate family enjoyed a buffet supper together. Residing In Prince Albert Couple Married 61 Years Congratulations are extend- ed to Mr. and Mrs. Walter Mulock who celebrated their |6lst wedding anniversary on | June 22nd, 1971, at the home of Mr. & Mrs. Frank Straugh |an, Prince Albert Walter Mulock, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frederick Muiock was born in Plumstead, Eng land in 1891 and came to Canada the year of the big fire in Toronto, 1904 Sarah Anne Mulock was born to Mr. and Mrs. James Tustin of East York in 1890. She was one of 11 children Mr. and Mrs. Mulock were married in 1910, 61 years }ago in Pape Ave Toronto. Born to the couple were son. The eldest daughter |s | Mrs. Marjorie Straughan of Prince Albert, Ont., Mrs. Au drey Lee, Oshawa, Ont., Mrs Elsie Houghton, Agincourt, Ont., and Mr. James Mulock, Woodville, Ontario Mr. and Mrs. Mulock have Church, | served the Police Dept 16 grandchildren and ii great grandchildren. Times being hard, Mr. Mu- lock found it necessary to change his job on several oc- casions. His first job was as a har- nessmaker, in 1904 at Uni- versity and Queen Streets, Toronto. Next he entered ip as a market gardener in Tod morden. He then went nack to harness-making at the T Eaton Co. for six years dur ing World War I Mr. Mulock joined the York County Police Dept where he worked up to the position of Deputy-Chief. He for thirteen years He resigned, to go farming | four children, 3 daughters, 1| in Kinsale, Ont. for 13 years and then moved to Udney where he farmed for another 18 years. He retired from farming in May of 1967 The couple are rending now at the home of Mr and Mrs. Frank Straughan, Prince Albert, Ont
