Brenda Brown spent the week-end with her cousin Kathy Brown of Port Perry Mr. and Mrs. Claude Park- er enjoyed a visit with his sister Ola Fales of New Brun- swick on Thursday evening. She was returning home from the west Miss Debbie Mackey spent a few days last week with her sister and family Mr. & Mrs. C. Parker. Mr. and Mrs. C. Parker and family enjoyed their trip to Ontario Place on Sunday. John Vanstrein spent three days last week in Pet- erboro at the 4H Regional Convention held at Trent University. He enjoyed him- self very much and also re- ported only five members present from Ontario County. Mr. and Mrs. M. Vanstrein and family visited with Mr and Mrs. Scheepers in Myrtle Sunday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Alvers and family, Port Perry, Sunday afternoon visitors of Mr. and Mrs. M. Vanstrein and family Mr. and Mrs. Allan Em. pringham, Agincourt guest of Mr. and Mrs. L. Empringham on Saturday. Mrs. Marilyn DiPaola and children of Sudbury are vis- iting her parents Mr. & Mrs. M. Fralick also Gloria Fralick of Toronto, Carol Brown is visiting for a few days in Oshawa with Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brown and family. David and Nancy Jackson and family, Oshawa, also Roy McDonald of Toronto visited on Saturday with Mr. & Mrs. Fred Jackson. Mr. D. Chappell celebrated his birthday on the week-end and celebrating it with him was his wife, and Mr. & Mrs. David Chappell and also John and Claudia Hollows of Tor- onto. During the bad thunder storm a week ago Mr. & Mrs. Dick Chappell noticed a boat out on the lake and were wishing it would come in to their dock. Sure enough it did and the people in it were Mr. and Mrs. Hallett and their daughter and son-in-law and family of Oshawa. They were coming from Caesarea and trying to find their way to Port Perry. Now the storm was so bad, the Chap- pells finally convinced these people to come into their Chappells for their kinditess and when the storm had pass- ed they journeyed on their way to Port Perry. Visitors of Peter Chappell at his cottage, Pine Point on Thursday were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gline and Miss Mary Kairk Patrick of Toronto. Guests on the weekend with Peter Chappell were Michael Brown of Scarboro and Stuart Shinn and Ed Baron of Toronto. Parents are asked to really watch their children while fishing during the holidays. On Sunday Mr. D. Smith and his two grandsons were out in the bat fishing and Brian was very unfortunate to get a fish hook in his ear while casting his line. He had to be taken to Emergency at Port Perry Hospital where Dr. M. B. Dymond removed this dangerous object, also he was given a tenus shot. Everyone is holidaying at their cottages on the Island now that school is out. Please take your children swimming, don't send them unattended. It may end in tragedy. Mr. and Mrs. Fred Thomp- son of Oshawa were guests of Mr. and Mrs. E. Prentice and family on Sunday. Miss Laura Pogue of Osh- awa is visiting with her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. R. Pogue while her parents are Guests at the Wm. Watts cottage on the week-end were Mr. and Mrs. R. Pegg, the G Watts' and Mr. S. Gregory all of Toronto. * > .
