Wednesday, July 21st, was Armstrong Day. We visited Crown Zellerbach, a new ply- wood plant, In the afternoon, we toured the cheese factory at Armstrong, sampling some of their goods. Thursday, July 22nd, the City of Vernon gave us a delicious dinner in the early evenings. We were presented city and province. We signed the city guest book and then left for a Farewell Party. On Friday, July 23rd, our bus left for Edmonton at 12:15 p.m. Behind us were 'eft unforgetable memories. ""he mountains were pictures- que even though it rained. We had supper in Calgary and arrived at Edmonton Airport around 1:00 a.m. Later we boarded an Air Canada char- tered plane and headed for Ottawa. We arrived in Ottawa early Saturday morning. During the afternoon we toured the Parliament Buildings and the Art Gallery and after supper we were given a bus tour of Ottawa and Hull. Many of the Voyageurs spent the evening at a Coffee House where music was provided for them by a Boston group. Sunday morning we board- ed a train for Cobourg. Many departed at the stations along the way and a few took a bus to Port Hope High School where eager faces awaited them. The Young Voyageurs Pro- gram is a joint venture of the federal government, the ten provincial governments plus administrations of Yukon and Northwest Territories. The program helps young Cane- 'dians to become more aware of the industrial , political, educa taional, and cultural achieve- ments of another province and become better citizens. All those responsible for the Young Voyageur programe we say Thank you and keep up the good work!
