In these cases, which were closed for the present on Tuesday night (Nov. 19), Geo. E. Alger was committed for trial in the case of the Equitable policy, and placed under $6,000 bail, to appear at the December sessions for trial. In the Home Life case, Geo. E. Alger, J. N. Hortop and N. C. Brown were each placed under $2,000 bail to appear at the same court, which will open here on December 10th, before either Judge Burnham on Judge Dartnell. In each case, two bondsmen were required to bear half the bail.
