Old associations which have come to mean much more in the light of the present conflict will be renewed on Sunday morning (Nov. 10) when for the eighth year, the 19th Battalion Association, of which the rector of All Saints’ Church is the chaplain, will visit Whitby for their annual Remembrance season church parade. The battalion had a great record in the great war and was recruited from Toronto, Hamilton, St. Catharines and many other points. Reinforcement drafts from many units filled the gaps left by the heavy fighting in which the Battalion engaged. Being one of the battalions forming the Fourth Brigade of the Second Division of the Canadian Corp. the 19th saw every action from 1915 onwards. The men come for this church parade from as far away as Belleville and it has increased in interest as the years go by. Many of the men are now in uniform again and man after man has a son or sons serving with colors again. These men and all those like them are the backbone for the defense of Canada and the Empire.
The Battalion will line up at the Town Hall with the Whitby Branch of the Legion and after a short ceremony and laying of a wreath at the cenotaph, will proceed along Dundas Street to the church. The
