Sometime be- tween 3925 and 1952 when Miss Amelia Lear was principal, a scholarship was set up to be given annually to the outstand- Christ Church WA Supports Missions The Evening Branch of ihe Woman's Auxiliary of Christ Memorial Church was organiz- ed in September 1956 by Mrs. Donald Souch. From an attend- ance of eight at the first meet- ing. membership has grown to 42 The branch funds are used to help maintain missions in Can- ada and abroad and to help with the needs of its parish. Once a month members meet with the afternoon branch for a study book meeting. Some of the group help in the Tuck Shop at Hillsdale Manor regularly, and also assist in serving coffee at the Red Cross Bleed Donor's Clinic. Along with other groups of the church a bazaar is held near Christmas and again in May. An evening of bridge is held in October. These are the main projects for raising money throughout the season. The meetings are held in the club room of the church on the second Tuesday of the month at $.15 p.m. The officers for the current year are: Honorary President, Mrs. H. D. Last year's programs were educational with good speak- ers, films and enjoyable musi- cal entertainment. Kindergarten and Grade 2 Tea is held to acquaint parénts and teachers. Open House wag held on Nov. 17, 1960, before our regular meeting. The kindergarten class wags given candy at Christmas; @ Christmas tree was put up mm their room also. At field day, we sold home- made candy, chips, chocolate bars, pop. A graduation party was held for Grade § students. We only have kindergarten te Grade 6 now.
