The Park Committee and all those interested met in 'the school on Thursday evening. They are planning for a Field Day in August. Boy Scouts Hold Giant Camp Fire BY MRS. OLGA HILL BLACKSTOCK -- The Cart- wright Boy Scouts were hosts for a giant camp fire on the ag- ricultural grounds, Sunday ev. ening. With scout master Blake Gun- ter as MC and all groups in horse shoe formation, ceremon- eis commenced with the raising of the colors by patrol leader Ray Mountjoy. The camp fire was officially lighted by scout master Gunter. With all groups again in the horseshoe formation, troop lead- : David Ballingal lowered the ag. For their closing get- together, the Hi C, and others who will be eligible to join in the fall, under the leadership of Mr. and Mrs. Ivan Thomp- son and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Kyte enjoyed a party of games and dancing on the Kytes lawn. The group will donate $25 to the Women's Auxiliary of Port Perry hospital to be used to de« corate the childrens ward. A pleasant time was spent Sunday when 55 members of the Van Camp family gathered at the home of her brother Mr. and Mrs. Richard Van Camp in honor of Miss Doreen Van Camp who is going to India as a missionary teacher this sum: mer. A picnic lunch was enjoyed at noon. Doreen was presented with a three-piece matching set of luggage. The DS Camp at Cadmus was officially re-opened, Sun- day with a large brass band in attendancé to provide music for a good crowd who had come from Toronto for the occassion.
