Band said Monday. The form of help, he indi- cated, would probably be through the Ontario Society for Crippled Children rather than direct financial aid to parents. His comments followed , a | weekend report that Hamilton twin boys had been born crip- pled in January, their mother having taken thalidomide dur- ing her pregnancy. Her lawyer estimated their medical expenses may be as high as $6,000 a year for the next 16 years. The society, Mr. Band said, is one of the best in the world and is organized to take care of children born with deformity from any cause. It receives provincial grants, he said.
