'The Radford car stuck Jet. ten's private garage and smash- ed the whole front and door down on top of Jetten's car which was parked in the gar- age. Damage to the Jetten car was slight but both Radford's and Olesen's car were smash- ed beyond repair. Radford's car was incapable of being towed until wrecking crews placed it on a four-wheel dolly to take it away from the scene. This fatal crash came within 40 hours of a three-car crash / |which occurred near midnight Friday at Myrtle Station, a half. mile north, which took two lives. Van Allen said Sun- day that a huge new radiation belt in the lower reaches of the Van Allen belt has been formed around the earth as a result of the July 9 high-altitude nuclear test. conducted by the United States over the Pacific. Van Allen, a professor at the State University of Iowa, dis- covered in 1958 the radiation belt which is named after him. The belt circles the earth from an altitude of about 600 miles to perhaps as high as 100,000 miles, Couple Found Shot To Death NEWBURY, Ont. (CP)--Mau- tice Lamaitre, 54, and his 53- year-old wife were found shot to death on their tobacco farm about three miles north of here early Sunday. Crown Attorney C. C. Savage of London said investigation in- dicates it was a murder-suicide. Alan Lamaitre, 16, son of the victims, and John Sipple, 17, a friend, discovered the bodies. The man was found lying be- side a pickup truck in the yard with a .22 calibre rifle by. his side. Mrs. Lamaitre was found dead in her bedroom. ----
