Oshawa Lionettes Dedicated To Assisting District Blind The Oshawa Lione'tes has just marked its 12th anniversary with the installation of the 1962- 1963 executive. The past year has been a very successful one under Pres- ident, Mrs. Robert Schoenau. The year began with the pres- ident of the Ajax Lionettes in- Stalling the officers, with guests also present from that club. Four rummage sales were held throughout the year plus One draw. Several Lionettes ' accompan- ied Mrs. Robert Schoenau to Bowmanville for the honor of installing their executive at an _ impressive candlelight cere- mony. The highlight of the year was a very successful Strawberry Tea held in June, at Hillsdale Manor with Her Worship Mayor Christine Thomas pouring tea. Donations were made at Christmas to needy families in- cluding a baby shower. Other donations included the Simcoe Hall building fund, Hillsdale Manor and a donation to the Lions Club towards their con- tribution: to the CNIB Camp at Lake Joseph. The president also had the honor of awarding the Annual Bursary to last years recipient Larry Williams at the Donevan Collegiate Commencement exer- cises in November. The Lionettes provided their services at the Tuck Shop at Hillsdale Manor throughout the year and supplied lunch twice monthly at the Humoresque Club meetings with Blind con- veners Mrs, Rufus Lambert and Mrs, Jack Anderson serving. The club also catered for a so- cial evening during the summer held by the Lions Club. . Social events included the an- nual Christmas party. held at the home of Charter President Mrs. Rufus Lambert and a most interesting tour the Henry House Murcum in June. The President Mrs. Robert Schoenau and Treasurer Mrs. Ray Stephenson were guests at the Canadian National Ex- hibitions Womens Day. Tea. The incoming executive is as follows: president, Mrs. Ray Stephenson; vice-president, Mrs. Gerald Hudson; secretary, Mrs. Peter Andrey; treasurer, Mrs. John Kent; penalty officer, Mrs. E. J.
