'Tuseday, Movember 6, 1962 25 THE OSHAWA TIMES, Ladies' Auxiliary Ukrainian P-B Club Donate Generously The Ukrainian Professional and Business Ladies' Auxiliary Was organized in 1955 with Mrs. Joseph Olinyk as the first president. There are approximately 20 members in the Auxiliary at the present time. The meetings are held in the homes of the mem- bers each month,. at which time a guest speaker is invited. Although the organization per- forms some services in the community, it is mainly a so- eial club. Catering for the Men's Club -is one of the main projects of the Auxiliary; for such events as the annual fall dance, the family picnie and other func- tions they hold during the year. There are many annual so- 'cial events. For a membership drive, the members hold a tea in the fall. In place of the Oc- tober meeting, the ladies -enjoy an evening of dinner and the theatre in Toronto. During the Easter season an evening is spent painting tradititional Uk- rainian Easter eggs. Guests are invited to attend a strawberry social held in June each yea rnd a pot luck supper is held in the early summer for the members and their husbands. Beta Sigma Phi Cultural Society For Young Women Beta Sigma Phi, non academic and non-sectarian, so- cial, cultural and civic organiza- tion, was formed by Walter W. Ross in Abilene, Kansas, U.S.A. in 1931 with only seven mem- bers .Since then it has expanded to over 5,500 Chapters with more than 130,000 active mem- bers and. is becoming the work!'s largest international sorority. It is composed of four degree chapters: Nu Phi Mu Degree, Ritual of Jewels De- gree and Preceptor Degree Chapters.
