Conveners for this event were the hostess assisted by Miss Audrey Lawler, Miss Doris Batty, President of the Alumnae who thanked the committee in charge. The group will resume its activities in September. Read entertained Tuesday evening at the Read's residence, Henry street, in honor of Miss Gertrude Eckel who is retiring from the Whitby public schools staff. Those present weré close} friends of Miss Eckel. Mrs. Read on behalf of' all present made a presentation to Miss Eckel and offered best wishes on her retirement. Mrs, W. A.
