GE Employees Walk Off Job Over Camera PETERBOROUGH (CP) About 30 hourly-paid employ- ees walked out of Canadian General Electric's works here Tuesday, protesting the use of a motion picture camera for a time and methods study at the plant. William Woodbeck, business agent for Local 524 of the United Electrical, Radio and Machine .Workers (CLC) said the union has urged employees to return to work. A- meeting was called to discuss the walk- out. He said management contin- ued to use the camera for its study although the union had followed grievance procedure and lodged a complaint, Douglas Brown, manager of employee and community rela- tions, said motion picture cam- eras have been used for time and methods studies in the past. Mr, Woodbeck claimed the cameras were used before only with consent from the em- ployees. in Little Lake Cemetery. | MR. C. T. Youths Facing Murder Trial In Strangling CHATHAM (CP) -- Richard Allen Swearingden, 17, and Clif- ford Garfield Evans, 15, both of London, Ont., were committed for trial Tuesday on a charge of capital murder. They are accused of killing Robert Marshall, 28, of London whose mutilated body was a in a park near here June Magistrate I. B. Craig, who ruled last week that Evans should be tried as an adult, or- dered both youths to be tried by judge and jury when the On. tario Supreme Court sits here in October. Magistrate Craig refused an appeal from Evans' lawyer to reduce the charge against the 15-year-old which carries a pos- sible death penalty. Pathologist Dr. John Fisher of London said Marshall died from asphyxia due to manual strang- ulation, shock and loss of blood from throat and wrist wounds. He said there was a gaping 4%-inch wound in the neck and both wrists were cut. Rope burns were found on the neck and there were scrapes and bruises on the arms and back. Dr. Fisher said he was of the opinion death occurred some- time cn the night of June 18. James Mahon, 17, of London testified a conversation he had with Swearingden some time be- fore the body was discovered led him to believe the accused youth mignt be involved. He said that when he heard a broadcast June 23 describing an unidentified body being found in the park, he told his minister of his suspicions and the minister telephoned police.
