ee a TN I orf i . : e ge | THE OSHAWA TIMES, Scturdey, September 14, 1963 MR. AND MRS. PAUL A. BLACK 'Kay Mastin Is To Paul Alexander Black Pipers Chery! Williams, Brian Pollock and Donald Mastin, bro. fer of the bride, led the wed- ding procession from the vestry of the church, when Katherine Elsie Mastin was married to Paul Alexander Black, last Fri- day, in the First Baptist Church. They were met outside the church by the 2nd Oshawa Scout Troop, who formed a guard of honor for their assist- amt scoutmaster and his bride. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ian Mastin, and the bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John M. Black, all of Oshawa. The Reverend F, N. Swack- mer officiated,. and Mr. oss Metcalfe, Bowmanville, gang "The Wedding Prayer', "The Lord's Prayer" and the "Wedding Hymn' accompani- @d by Mrs. Mabel Joyce. Given in marriage by her fa- ther, the bride wore a floor- iength gown of silk peau de goie, designed with a scoop meckline, outlined with Alencon lace and had lily point sleeves. The fitted bodice and _bell- Shaped skirt were enhanced with Alencon lace. The back, ac- ited with a self. rose, fell into chapel train. Her matching fose headdress held a bouffant Veil of tulle illusion. She car- fied a white orchid on a white Bible, which was presented to PE RG ey CeCe oN renee ANN LANDERS Dear Ann Landers: I am a boy 13 years old with a terrible problem. My mother is a nice person but she is not a good barber, She cuts my lair and my little brother's, too, and she does a lousy job of it. For a week after a haircut, I am h. d to leave the house. All wearing a pale turquoise silk ensemble and matching hat. three-piece double knit suit, /|the guys in the neighborhood ask me when I am going to the 4 \electric chair. I have told my dad how I : feel about this but he says hair- leuts by barbers cost a lot of '\imoney and tg can't afford it. He also says my hair grows like a week and I'd have to go évery other week. Is there a solution to my ' |problem? Or do I just have to 'suffer with it until I am old enough to earn some money so 4\I can buy haircuts on my own? --Ireland Studio Married tee on receiving her gold cord in Guiding. Miss Joyce Mastin, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor and Miss Carol Audley was the bridesmaid. They were gowned alike in classical floor- length, teal blue peau de soie, with scoop neckline and three- quarter sleeves. The _ softly pleated bell skirt was drama- tized at the back with a full- length train trimmed with a self bow. They carried nose- gays of yellow roses, yellow and white chrysanthemums and gladiola florets: Their head- dresses were florets of match- ing peau de soie and veiling. Mr. John Black, Oshawa, was best man, and the ushers were Mr. James Gard, Oshawa, Mr. Arthur Etcher. and Mr. Morley Etcher, Bowmanville. For the reception at The First Baptist Church, the bride's mother received, in a powder blue lace ensemble, with a three-quarter length coat and navy blue accessories. The bridegroom's mother assisted, The couple left on a motor trip and the bride donned a red made by the bridegroom's mo- ther, with black accessories and an orchid corsage. When Mr. and Mrs. Black return they will reside at 589 Lansdowne drive, ed against all eases, | |Shaved Rat Dear S.R.: Ask your dad if he will take you to a barber Mom's Barbering Makes Him Ashamed can't tolerate, He has an irri- tating voice and dramatizes every trivial incident until I could scream. I try not to be critical of him because I don't want to make my daughter un- happy, but it's impossible to be on guard every: moment, My daughter becomes furious when I utter even one word of com- plaint against him. I do not ask them to visit me. They come because they want to. What can I do to cure myself of this horrible feeling of revulsion against my daugh- ter's husband? I despise my- self for not being able to handle the situation better but I loathe the man and it shows, --OUT- LAW IN-LAW. Dear Outlaw: Suggest to your daughter that she arrange her visits for the most part when she can come alone. The less you see of her husband the bet- ter for all of you, college. The prices are _|there because students do the cutting. The price of haircuts is no joke these days. But they have not gone up any more than most other commodities and services. It just seems that way to us old fogies who remember when a shave and a haircut was two-bits. DEAR ANN LANDERS: I've read your column for many years and am surprised this problem has never shown up in print. I can only assume that our neighborhood has the only nut of this kind. A certain young mother who lives a few doors away has three children under six years of age. She has allowed her children to run loose in the neighborhood with pink eye, measles, mumps and _ skin rashes of undetermined origin. Just last week my son caught whopping cough from the neigh- bor child. Don't tell me to speak to her. I have. She says I'm a Fuss Pot and that she believes in letting her children "wear out their little illnesses". In the meantime I hate to order my kids to stay away from her kids. Please tell me what to do. --FURIOUS MOTHER. Dear Furious: Check with your doctor and make certain your own children are inoculat- infectious dis- It is against the law to allow children with communicable illnesses to run loose, The next time the neighbor woman breaks the law tell her to keep her child isolated or you will ask your doctor to report her. If she doesn't keep her child inside after that -- go ahead and do it.
