Smith, Alexandra street, recent- ly returned from a two month tour of England and the con- tinent. Accompanying them were their son and his wife and family, Mr. and Mrs, Claud Smith, Vickie, Warren, and Claudia Smith, all of Port Arthur. The party flew by jet ito London, where they Spent some time touring the south of England. Mr. Claud Smith then returned to Canada, and, the rest toured Northern France, Belgium, Italy, Luxembourg, and Switzerland, While in Rome they visited the Vatican, and attended an open air opera. Returning they visited Scotland and there boarded the RMS Empress of England for home. Mrs, G, D. Conant had as her guest for several days last week, Mrs. Mervyn Chute of Whitby and the bridegroom is London, England, whom she the 11th conference of World Girl Guides. Mrs, Chute, born in Milwaukee of pioneer Eng- lish stock, spent her girlhood in the consulates of Europe; was married to an English en- gineer in Rome and has spent her married life in England. Due to her husband's _ill- health she has visited most of the tropical and semi-tropical winter resorts, South America and Japan. Now, widowed, she has been visiting the scenes of her childhood in Wisconsin and renewing family acquaintances in the United States for the past year.
