Ontario Crime Probers Still Query Valachi WASHINGTON (CP) -- On- tario crime investigators spent another 30 minutes with mob- ster informant Joseph Valachi Thursday, . obtaining clarifica- tion of some earlier statements and getting his signature on a transcript of the interview. Judge Bruce Macdonald, chairman of the Ontario Police Commission, said in an inter-' view that no new points devel- oped in this second session, con- ducted as was the one Wednes- day, in the maximum-security District of Columbia Jail. The Wednesday interview continued for 2% hours. Judge Macdonald and his as- sociates, including Toronto po- lice officials, have declined to disclose the nature of the Val- achi interviews except to say they were useful and helpful in developing possible new leads which could improve crime de- tection and prevention in On- tario. Valachi has testified before a Senate subcommittee that the Cosa Nostra crime society has branches or families including one that covers the Buffalo-Tor- onto area. The Ontario Police Commis- sion intends to make recom- mendations to improve police protection in a report to be co 1- pleted by the end of December. Judge Macdonald said his group also spent 90 minutes dis- cussing the international narco- tics situation with federal en- '|forcement officers. This, again, was "extremely helpful and use- ful" but he would not go into details. 36--Legal NOTICE TO CREDITORS AND OTHERS Creditors and others having claings against the estate of ALFRED JOSEPH .
