THOMAS McHUGH BOWMANVILLE -- The death of Mrs, Helen Josephine Mc- Hugh, in-her 56th year, occur- red in the Toronto Western Hos- pital, April 17, at 7:30 a.m., fgllowing~ years of illness. Mrs. McHugh was the former Helen (Nell) Turner, of Saint John, New Brunswick, daughter of the late George and MaryAnn (Kane) Turner. She is survived by her hus- band, Thomas McHugh of Saint John, Toronto and Bowman- ville; a halfbrother, John English of Saint John; three sis- ters, Mrs. H. O'Brien, Mrs. R. Gamblin and Miss Agnes Turner Saint John; also several nieces and nephews, also in '\Cemetery, The consecration of Mrs, McHugh was educated ir Saint John, at St. Peter's Girls' School and. ADA MARIE MYATT Mrs, Ada Marie Myatt died at the Oshawa General Hospital Friday, Apr. 24, in her 97th year, She had resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Murray, 639 Hortop street. The former Ada Marie Berry, she was born Feb. 3, 1868, in Lankashire, Eng., a daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wil- liam Berry. She married the late George Myatt in Stockport, Manchester, in 1893. Mrs. Myatt had, been a resi- dent of Oshawa -for.the past 28 years, coming here from Toronto. She had lived in Can- ada for 52 years. Mrs. Myatt was a member of the Christian Science Church. Predeceased by her husband Jan. 3, 1940, she is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Harold Murray .(Doris), of Oshawa, and Mrs. C. E. Yonson (Cora), of Toronto, and a-son, William Myatt, of Brisbayne Australia. There are eight grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. The memorial service will be held in the Armstrong Funergl Chapel Monday, Apr. 27, at "2 p.m. Reader L. B. Bonham of the Christian Science Church will conduct the service. She was a member of Centre Street United Church. Predeceased by her husband; Mrs. Southwell is survived by two daughters, Mrs. T. 0. Mitchell (Goldie), Belleville and Mrs. Audrey Weeks (Lora), Oshawa and a son, Eldon, of Oshawa. Also surviving are two sisters, Miss Ethel Goldring of Toronto and Mrs. Harriet Squires of Cooksville; a brother, George Goldring of Toronto; six grand- children and five great-grand- children. The funeral service will be held at the Gerrow Funeral Home at 2 p.m. Monday, April 27. Rev, A. W. Magee, minister of Centre Street United Church, will conduct the. service. Inter- ment will be in Mount Lawn Cemetery. MICHAEL SHUTKA The death of Michael Shutka occurred Friday, Apr. 24, in Memorial Hospital, Bowman- ville. He had' been in failing health for the past year. Mr. Shutka® had resided at RR 1, Orono (Starkville). Born July 1, 1895 in Horoden- ka, Austria, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Shutka. Mr. Shutka married the former Theresa Andrey in St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church, Oshawa, Nov. 6, 1920. Mr. Shutka had farmed in the Orono district for the past 33 years. (Bim) Sturgeon, formerly of Peterborough, died in Ottawa recently. The son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert Sturgeon, he was born and educated in this city. He was a proficient athlete, excelling in track and field and badminton as a young man. He was also a member of a curling team which once captured the Governor-General's Trophy. In 1935 he entered recreation work and held posts in Port Elgin -- where he married the former Doris Tulping -- Tim- mins and Ottawa. Prior to his death he had worked as an Ot- shall, James Campbell, Pat Mallow and Richard Burtch. Hillsdale Manor, who died at the Oshawa General Hospital Wednesday, April 22, was held in the McIntosh-Anderson Fu- neral Chapel Friday, April 24, at 3 p.m. G Rev. L. W. Herbert, minister of King Street United Church, conducted the service. Inter- ment was in Oshawa Union Cemetery.
